Can mozaBook be installed on Linux computers?
02/07/2026, 18:10

On mozaweb.com, in the Media library, every digital content can be accessed independently of the platform. Moreover, presentations created in mozaBook –exercise books– can be opened, edited and modified using the toolbar, and new ones can be made as well.

The mozaBook software is developed for the Windows operating system; therefore, its use is recommended in a Windows environment. Windows can be run using a virtual machine on Linux or Apple.

However, mozaBook can be run on devices with Linux using the Wine software.

To make installation and configuration easier, here is a guide for Debian distribution:

1. Download the most recent mozaBook Linux installer by clicking on the following link.
https://www.mozaweb.com/en/mozabook/linux-installer

2. Open the downloaded .zip file and launch it.

3. Enter the super user password of the computer in the appearing window.

4. After entering the correct password, click on the 'Install now' button.

5. The Setup Assistant starts to prepare the environment for running mozaBook before downloading and launching the actual mozaBook installer. 6. Follow the instructions the same way as on computers with Windows.

Tip Download and copy the mozaBook installer into the same folder where the Linux Setup Assistant was downloaded. This way, the Linux Setup Assistant will launch the mozaBook installer immediately after the running environment is ready.

It is possible that some mozaBook functions do not work exactly the same way on a computer with Linux as in Windows, but we are continuously working on improving the functionality.
